Amanda Peake Glover was 32 years old when she collapsed after crossing the finish line of the 2015 Palmetto Half Marathon on April 11th. She was a dedicated wife and mother of four children, an active member of her church family at Spears Creek Baptist, a property manager for Peake Properties, and a co-owner of Fitness 535 gym in Elgin.
In the hours after her passing, the gym posted the following statement:
“Today we lost a friend, a sister, a niece, an aunt, a wife, a mother, and a daughter…but what we lost, The Lord gained for his Kingdom. We don’t always understand these things in our small earthly minds, but we trust that God is in control. We love you, Amanda, and can’t thank you enough for what you’ve brought into all of our lives.”
Amanda indeed met every goal she set for herself with excitement and vigor. She truly ‘Lived Life Loud’, which has become a mantra celebrated among her friends and family in her honor. Not only did Amanda finish the half marathon before her passing, but she finished the race of life, and she finished it well!
We would love for all those who plan to walk, or run, in memory of Amanda Glover, to do so in a symbol of unity, wearing a common t-shirt which was designed by her friends at Fitness 535. We feel these shirts represent her personality, her zeal for life, and of course, her love for everything PINK!
The proceeds from the purchase of an APG shirt will be donated to Happy Wheels.
All donations are greatly appreciated. Participants who donate a minimum of $20 will receive an APG Live Life Loud T-Shirt. Non-race participants can make a donation of $25 and receive an APG Live Life Loud T-Shirt. Or if you prefer to not receive a shirt, donations are greatly appreciated and can be made during the registration process.
